Exhibitors and Sponsors

The Nebraska Department of Education and the Latino-American Commission are pleased to announce the 2016 Hispanic/Latino Summit.  This year’s conference will be held on October 24th in Kearney, Nebraska at the Younes Conference Center.  The 2016 Summit will provide participants an awareness of Latino student achievement successes, challenges, and resources to support their school success.

Nebraska has experienced a 100% increase in the number of English language learners (ELLs) since 2000.  Of the more than 100 languages spoken by ELLs in the state, over 70% speak Spanish.  As our state demographics change, our work is to assure equitable opportunities and hold high expectations for ALL children.  We can do this work with all of us working together.

Participation in this conference will come from students and school staff.  We are encouraging youth attendance through providing informational sessions on opportunities for post-secondary experiences.
